Trick-Trick grew up in his hometown, and was listening to gospel soul and funk from an early age. As he was growing up, his musical taste widened and he became interested in hip hop groups such as N.W.A, Run DMC and Public Enemy, among others.
Soon the music became his life, and the streets his home, as his father left the family, and he needed to provide for his mother. He then joined a street gang, called Black Killers, and as a result he spent several months in county jail. Nevertheless, he didn`t quit from his desire to become a successful rapper, and in 1992 he signed his first record deal with the Click Boom label. In the mid-1990s, he became a member of the hip-hop group Goon Sqwad, consisting of rappers Diezel, Bosalino Poncho, 4DFUNK, and DJ Thilla. The group has released seven albums so far; their first album came out in 1996, entitled “From Death”, and their next album in 1997, entitled “G4 Life”, which further launched them into the rap scene, and its sales increased Trick-Trick`s net worth. They subsequently released three more albums, including “Who Want It” (2001), “Booty Bounce”, and “Back” (2003), which is their more recent release. Also, they have collaborated with Eminem and another member of D12, Proof.
