John Lennon spent most of his childhood with his aunt in Woolton, Lancashire. Lennon studied at Dovedale Primary School, and later enrolled in the Liverpool College of Art. Lennon started his music career with a group called “The Quarryman” with whom he performed at local events. During one of those performances, Lennon met Paul McCartney and asked him to join the band. Shortly afterwards, they were joined by George Harrison and changed the name to “The Beatles”.
