Daunte Culpepper was adopted when he was a baby by the late Emma Lewis Culpepper; his biological mother is Barbara Henderson. So, he was raised by Emma in a huge family as one of 15 children. He studied at Vanguard High School, where he excelled in all sports activities, especially football, as he was named Mr. Football in the state of Florida in 1994. He was drafted as the 730th overall pick by the New York Yankees in the 1995 Major League Baseball Draft, but he did not sign a contract, as he wanted to continue his education at the University of Central Florida, and where he decided to play college football.
Daunte’s professional football career began in 1999, when he was selected as the 11th overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL Draft.
