As a child, Javaris played basketball night and day, but despite this obsession, was a good student. Talking about his professional career, Crittenton was chosen 19th in the1st round of the NBA draft 2007 by the LA Lakers, then traded alongside Kwame Brown and Aaron McKie to Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Pau Gasol. At the end of 2008 he was traded to the Washington Wizards, and in 2009, he received a suspension by NBA for a misdemeanour involving mutual threats with guns with a colleague.
Subsequently, in 2010 he played in the team of Zhejiang Lions in China, then in 2011, Javaris played for the Dakota Wizards in the D-League.
