Born in Elkhart, Indiana USA, but raised in Michigan, Reckell came from a big family of six kids. His love for acting started during his high school years, where he actively participated in various school theatre productions. He then graduated from the renowned Boston Conservatory, with a bachelor of fine arts degree in theatre, with a minor in music and dance. During his college years, he worked as a singer/waiter to support his education, and then moved to New York to pursue his dreams in theatre.
Reckell’s aim of performing on stage came true, appearing in various productions like “The Fantasticks”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Love Letters” and “Guys and Dolls” to name a few.
