Marc’s amateur tally was 177-7, going 48-1 in the international and national competitions, becoming a two-time amateur world champion, a 16-time national champion, a three-time national silver gloves champion, and a two-time national Junior Olympic champion.
On 15 August in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Castro was supposed to make his pro-debut, which he was delayed by a few days earlier testing positive for COVID-19. His debut in Hollywood, Florida was reprogrammed for 28 November, but Castro was injured in the ankle during training.
