Laurene Powell was born on 6 November 1953, in West Milford, New Jersey USA, and is perhaps best known as the widow of Steve Jobs, but also as an entrepreneur in her own right whose activities have Forbes magazine ranking her as the 45th richest person, and fifth richest woman in the world in 2015.

Powell Jobs graduated with BA and BSc degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985, and subsequently with a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1991. Before business school, Powell Jobs worked for Merrill Lynch Asset Management and spent three years at Goldman Sachs as a fixed-income trading strategist.
Powell Jobs co-founded natural foods company Terravera, selling to retailers in Northern California. She also served on the board of directors of Achieva, a company creating online tools to help students study and prepare for examinations. In her private life, Laurene Powell married Steve Jobs, the co-founder and former-CEO of Apple Inc., in 1991; their son Reed was born September 1991, followed by daughters Erin in 1995 and Eve in 1998. Steve died in 2011. Recently Laurene has been seen in the company of Adrian Fenty, a former mayor of Washington DC.
