Chingo was raised in Houston, Texas, USA by his parents – hard working Mexican emigrants, trying to achieve the American dream. Since the early years, Chingo turned to music, especially listening to Spanish versions of 50s rock played by his parents at a young age, and later rap via his two older sisters. The real break through in Chingo’s career came when he appeared in the Power 106’s Pocos Pero Locos show in Los Angeles, after which his debut LP album was released in 2004 under his own label, Big Chile Enterprises, named “The Tamale Kingpin”. In the first few weeks, it sold over 10,000 copies, providing the basis for his net worth.
By the release of “Chingo Bling 4 President”, his second studio album, in 2005, he was already considered a regional star. His success gained some attention, including MTV and Telemundo features.
