Twins’ parents are Kathy Colace and Jon Garcia. Girls were born sixteen minutes apart in San Diego but they were raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. They both were soccer players at school and in college. After graduating from Chaparral High School in 2002, the twins returned to San Diego to study in college. However, after a year they moved to Los Angeles and worked as waitresses there. By that time, the Bella Twins had started their modelling and acting, doing largely promotional work.
The Twins signed with WWE in 2007, and began their career in Florida Championship Wrestling. At first, Nicole and Brianna were fighting with other couples and were simply known as The Bella Twins. One year later, they were introduced separately as Nikki Bella and Brie Bella and began an on-screen relationship with The Colóns, appearing in many backstage segment with them.
