Andrew Weissmann is a former federal prosecutor, the top lieutenant in the Russia investigation of the 2016 election, and now a prosecutor on the special counsel Robert Mueller’s team.

Weissmann began his career working as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York in 1991. he remained in the post till 2002. from 2002 to 2005, he then served as deputy director appointed by George W. Bush and then appointed as the director of the task force investigating the Enron scandal. He prosecuted more than 30 people for perjury, fraud, and obstruction including three of Enron’s top executives, Andrew Fastow, Kenneth Lay, and Jeffrey Skilling.
In 2005, he started working as special counsel with Mueller. He then headed into private practice at Jenner & Block in New York. In 2011, he again served as General Counsel under Mueller.
