Soon he caught the attention of the MLB scouts, and even before the draft that would change his life, Molina was on a trial with the Cincinnati Reds, and surely impressed scouts and coaches, but still, at the 2000 MLB Draft, he was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round.

Yadier spent four years in the minor leagues developing his skills further, and then made his debut in the MLB on the 3rd June 2004. From that point, he became one of the best players of the St. Louis Cardinals. He made seven consecutive All-Star game appearances, from 2009 until 2015, also he has been the winner of the Gold Glove Award eight times, from 2008 until 2015. Furthermore, he has four Platinum Glove Award, which he won in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015, and most importantly, he has been a World Series champion twice with the St. Louis Cardinals, in 2006 and 2011.
