Susan Hallock Dey was born on the 10th December 1952 in Pekin, Illinois, USA, and is an actress, probably best known for starring in the role of Laurie Partridge in the TV series “The Partridge Family” (1970-1974), and as Grace van Owen in the TV series “L.A. Law”, for which she won Golden Globe Award; she has also appeared in a number of other TV and film titles. Besides that, she has is recognized as a model. Her career has been active since 1970.

Susan Dey is the daughter of Ruth Pyle, who was a nurse, and Robert Smith Dey, a newspaper editor of the New Rochelle, New York “Standard-Star”. When she was only eight years old, her mother died, so she was raised by her father. She went to Columbus Elementary School in Thornwood, New York, after which she moved with her father to Bedford, New York, where she attended Fox Lane High School, and was an active member of the school’s drama club, participating in several school plays, which gave her more interest in acting.

Before her acting career began, Susan was a model, encouraged by her grandmother, who sent her picture to a model agency, and she was immediately signed to a professional contract. However, in 1970 she auditioned for the part of Laurie Partridge in the TV series “The Partridge Family” (1970-1974), and secured the role which marked the beginning of her acting career. While the show lasted, Susan`s career gained momentum, making her debut film appearance in the John Guillermin`s film “Skyjacked” (1972). She also appeared in the film “Terror on the Beach” (1973), with Dennis Weaver and Estelle Parsons in lead roles. After the show ended, Susan emerged on the Hollywood scene as a young and talented actress, however she couldn`t land another notable role until 1977 when she was cast as Jane in the TV series “Loves Me, Loves Me Not”, and as Caroline Hedges in the film “First Love” the same year, with William Kat.

In the 1980s, Susan made several notable appearances, including roles in the TV series “Emerald Point N.A.S” (1983-1984), “L.A. Law” (1986-1992), and films “Echo Park” (1986), “Looker” (1981), “The Trouble with Dick” (1986), and “That’s Adequate” (1989), which increased her net worth by a large margin. She continued her career successfully in the 1990s, securing roles in such films as “Love & War” (1992-1993), “Blue River” (1995), “Avenged” (1998), and “Deadly Love” (1995), among others, all of which added to her net worth.
