Selena was born to Marcella Ofelia Quintanilla and Abraham Quintanilla, Jr. From an early age, she started showing talents in music, which was spotted by her father. He opened a restaurant, and Selena started performing there with her brother and sister. However, it was soon closed, and her father became her manager, with Selena and her two siblings starting to tour under the name of Selena y Los Dinos. Soon she was brought into the spotlight, and started recording songs, which resulted in the LP “Selena y Los Dinos” (1984), released by Freddie Records. She continued to record music, and soon five more LP`s followed – “Alpha” (1986), “Munequito De Trapo” (1987), “Preciosa” (1988), “Dulce Amor” (1988), and “And The Winner Is…” (1987).
