Rick Blangiardi Wiki Bio
Mr. Blangiardi was born on September 15, 1946, to his parents who immigrated to the United States from Italy. He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was raised there in a tenement.
Rick grew up in a working-class Boston family, that moved to Honolulu in 1965 when his dad, a munitions expert, was transferred to be a machinist at Pearl Harbor. Rick played football at the University of Hawaii Manoa, and after graduation, he spent seven years as a college football coach, the last five of those at UH.
Blangiardi played football for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors as a linebacker whereas he was a letterman for the Rainbow Warriors in 1965 and 1966.

Mr. Blangiardi, 73, not only has led a successful life in terms of his career but has equally been prosperous in his personal life. Currently, Rick Blangiardi is married to his beautiful wife, Karen Chang. He has been married to his now-wife, Karen, for nearly two years now; as they exchanged vows in September of 2018.
Rick’s wife Karen is a former executive for Charles Schwab and American Express. Furthermore, Chang was also a member of the Honolulu Police Commission until she resigned ahead of Blangiardi’s run for office.
The newly wedded couple haven’t started a family of their own, however, Karen treats Rick’s family like her own.

Prior to walking down the aisle with his now-wife, Karen, Rick already had shared a conjugal life with his former wife. Although Rick has kept the identity of his first wife private, we do know that he got married to her in the ’70s.
At the time that he first got married, Rick was still working as a football coach. However, in the year 1977, when his wife was expecting their first child; Rick made the financial decision to leave football and began selling commercials for KGMB.
As a football coach, Rick was making about $15,000 a year which didn’t suffice. Rick then found his calling in television; going on to found KHNL and bring live UH sports into living rooms statewide.
With his first wife, Rick has 3 children- two daughters and a son!
