Rebecca Black was born in 1997, in California, United States. Initially, Black studied at a private school, but after the 6th grade she continued her studies at a public school. While in high school, she took part in the music program, since she felt it was a right choice. However, due to her sudden fame, Black had to switch to home-schooling. In 2010, Black’s ventures led her to meet with the “ARK Music Factory” production company, which agreed to work on her song, and the music video “Friday” came out a year later, and attracting the attention of millions of viewers on YouTube, as well as Twitter websites. The fame of the song sparked legal issues between the record company and Rebecca Black, as a result of which they separated. Consequently, Black established her own record label “RB Records”, under which she released her second single, entitled “My Moment”. Not as popular as “Friday”, the latter song still managed to gain over one million views on YouTube during the first 24 hours of its release. Later that same year Black came out with “Person of Interest”, with the official video published on YouTube as well. Surprisingly enough, the song gathered mixed reviews rather than just negative ones. Black managed to turn negative public attitude towards her songs into a positive one, hence when her song “Saturday” came out in 2013 it was met with praise and favorable reviews. Upon its release, the song peaked at #55 on the Billboard 100 music chart, and succeeded in selling more than 3,000 copies digitally during its first week.
