The elder daughter of world-renowned Indian musician Ravi Shankar and American concert producer Sue Jones,  Norah Jones  is a long-standing music enthusiast; Jones has credited many of the old jazz legends with inspiring her to pursue a career in the music industry. Jones had her first experiences with public singing in church, and she was tutored in singing and playing the piano as a child. Even then, Norah Jones was already drawing attention for her amazing voice and compositions, being awarded with two DownBeat Student Music Awards in 1996.
