Nathaniel Newton was born on the 20th December 1961, in Orlando, Florida USA, and is known for being a former professional American Football player, in the position of guard in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers. Nate Newton spent his childhood in his hometown with his older brother, Tim Newton, who was also a professional football player. He went to Jones High School, where he was very active in such sports as football, wrestling, basketball, and track and field (shot put); however, he decided to pursue his career as a professional football player. At the beginning he played in the position of fullback, until he was moved to the position of defensive line as a junior. After high school, he enrolled at Florida A&M University, where he continued to play for the college’s team in both positions – as the offensive and defensive line. As a senior he was named All-MEAC.

His professional career began in 1983, when he signed a contract with the Washington Redskins, after he was left undrafted in the 1983 NFL Draft. Unfortunately he was involved in a serious car accident, and was cut from the team without playing in a single game. After that, he signed with the Tampa Bay Bandits, which competed in the USFL, but which folded the next year.

His next stop became the Dallas Cowboys, for whom he played until 1996, becoming one of the best guards in the league. He became three times Super Bowl champion with the Cowboys, and also made six All-Star game appearances, in 1992 and consecutively from 1994 until 1998, thanks to his great performance on the field during those years. Also, Nate was named into the All-Pro team twice, in 1994 and 1995. His net worth grew steadily.

After the Cowboys, Nate signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers which only increased further his net worth, but played for them in just seven games before he decided to retire in 1999, due to age and several injuries, which stopped him from playing at a high level.
Speaking about his personal life, Nate Newton was married to Dorothy Johnson (1992-2000), with whom he has two sons – Nate III and King – both of whom are football players. He devotes his free time to the North Dallas Community of God.
