The company holds and manages around 75 other companies; all Lynn’s endeavors have helped put her net worth to where it is now.

Lynn attended Teaneck High School and played with the school’s tennis team. After matriculating, she attended Yale University studying American Studies and graduated in 1981. Soon she would move to Columbia University obtaining an MBA in Finance.

After studying at Yale, she worked in Morgan Stanley and then later switched to Goldman, Sachs & Co. Afterwards she moved to Merrill Lynch still working as an investment banker. She continued there until 1989, working on special situations investment funds, bank loans and high yield bonds. Before she created Patriarch Partners, she became an executive at Long Drive Management Trust and also worked as Executive Managing Director for Papillon Partners.

Lynn founded Patriarch Partners in 2000 and slowly built their reputation over the years. Since starting the company, she has helped the restructuring of over 240 companies, handling around $8 billion in assets. The company is well known to use self-patented financial products that have delivered mixed results for the various companies they have handled. The company seems to focus on helping bankrupt manufacturing companies, and companies with distressed debt. Aside from her company, she also has other investments including being the CEO of MD Helicopters, Inc which focuses on helicopter manufacturing. She also became CEO of cosmetics company Stila and Dura Automotive Systems which handles supplies for the transportation industry.

Lynn’s made television and media appearances throughout her career, often appearing on CNBC and The Huffington Post as a guest contributor, and she was also featured in an interview from the show “20/20”. Titlon has also been given numerous awards such as the Mosaic Woman Legend Award, the Pioneer Award from the United Nations, and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Achievement Award for her achievements both as a former varsity tennis player and her financial career.

For her personal life, it is known that she married Kevin Tilton during her junior year in Yale and they have a daughter, but divorced in 1995 She is most often seen residing in New Jersey or Florida. Tilton has received a few criticisms and controversy about her life and business, including an article that detailed her supposed poor management style. She also had a problem with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and they filed counter-lawsuits against each other in 2015, which are yet to be resolved.
