To the public, Kristen Stewart is perhaps best known for portraying the character of Bella Swan in the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s novels called “The Twilight Saga”. The first film in the series entitled “Twilight” was released in 2008 to rather mixed critical reviews, yet it proved to be a commercial success with more than $392 million grossed at the box office. With the focus on the relationship between a vampire Edward Culled, played by Robert Pattison, and Bella Swan, the film succeeded at building a devoted fan base over time. This resulted in the release of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”, which almost doubled the profit of its predecessor with over $709 million grossed. In the latter film, Stewart and  Robert Pattison reprised their roles of Bella and Edward, while other characters were played by Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed and Anna Kendrick. The film was followed by the release “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, and its final installment “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”, which was released in 2 parts.

Kristen Stewart was born in 1990 in California, where she studied at various local schools. However, she eventually started performing at school plays, and had her first minor role in a film called “The Thirteenth Year”. Following that, Stewart starred alongside Mark Addy and Stephen Baldwin in “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas”, and then appeared opposite Jodie Foster, Forest Whitaker and Jared Leto in David Fincher’s thriller entitled “Panic Room”, which brought her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Stewart’s breakthrough came in 2007, when she played the role of Lucy Hardwicke in Jon Kasdan’s “In the Land of Women”, and later that year starred in Sean Penn’s survival film called “Into the Wild”. Her performance in the latter film brought her a lot of public exposure, as well as critical praise. A year later, Stewart was cast to play Bella Swan in “The Twilight Saga”, alongside Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

Stewart initially had a relationship with an actor, Michael Angarano, and was later dating Robert Pattinson.
