Bridgeman played with Milwaukee Bucks from 1975 to 1984, beginning his path by being named the MVC Player of the Year in 1975. He found his place in the Bucks, although he was the sixth man for most of his career, yet managed to score at least 10 points per game in nine consecutive seasons. In 1984, he was traded with Marques Johnson and Harvey Catchings to Los Angeles Clippers for Terry Cummings, Ricky Pierce and Craig Hodges, then in 1986, he was traded with Derek Smith and Franklin Edwards to the team of the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Mike Woodson, Larry Drew as well as 1st and 2nd draft picks.
