He also played basketball and ran track. In 2009 he enrolled in Baylor University, a private Baptist university in Waco, Texas. However, he was suspended from the Baylor football team after testing positive twice for marijuana. He totaled 43 career receptions for 721 yards and seven touchdowns in his two seasons at Baylor, then in 2011 he transferred to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, but sat out the whole season, due to NCAA transfer rules. The following year Gordon was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2012 NFL Supplementary Draft, signing a four-year, $5.3 million contract with the team, considerably improving his net worth. The player has recently made headlines after his failure to submit his DNA for a paternity test was made public, and an arrest warrant was issued. Reportedly, an Ohio woman filed a complaint in 2015, stating that Gordon is the father of her one-year-old child, and seeking a child support. A year later, the warrant was withdrawn as the player finally submitted his DNA, stating that he was unaware that he had been requested to take the test. The test results are expected to be returned before the hearing in November 2016.
