Hilda Solis Family And Childhood
Hilda is the third child of her parents Raul Solis, and Juana Sequeira. She has four sisters and two brothers, whom she mentions when she talks about the hardships of having to live with a low wage income.
Her father, Raul, worked at a Quemetco battery recycling plant after his arrival in the US. Soon after, he met Hilda’s mother, Juana, and they got married as they had the same dream of giving an opportunistic life to their children.
She graduated from La Puente High School, where she didn’t quite have the ideal time growing up. Hilda has said that she had quite a difficult time growing up instead, having to mature quickly.
After school, she had to take on a lot of government grants and part-time jobs to ensure that she got through College. However, she did graduate from the California State Polytechnic University at Ponoma. She was then going on to earn herself a Master of Public Administration Degree at the University of South California.
Before Hilda Became County Supervisor
As a part of her internship, Hilda started her first venture into American Politics as a newsletter editor-in-chief in the White House Office of Hispanic Affairs back in 1980. She soon left as she disagreed with some policies in the Office, then met her future husband, Sam H. Sayyad.
Afterward, Hilda worked with a few schools as the Director of the California Student Opportunity and Access Program in 1982. In 1985, Hilda joined a few more organizations and got elected into the Board of Trustees at Rio Hondo College District.
In 1990, Hilda Solis finally got her chance to fight for the low-wage and underprivileged people as she got into the California State Assembly. In the state senate, Hilda authored 17 bills to fight against domestic violence as well as other issues such as championed labor, education, and healthcare.

What Does Hilda Solis Fight For Now?
At the start of 2013, Hilda resigned as the Labor Secretary and decided to run for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
Hilda officially stated that she had too much of the Washington life and wanted to spend her time reconnecting with her local community and her mother, who was 87 years of age at the time. Firstly, she wanted some rest. So she took a year off from politics and spent the time doing minor scholarly work.
Finally, in 2014 Hilda won a seat in the County Board of Supervisors. She helped facilitate a lot of neighborhoods in the state, causing an increase in the budget, assisting foster homes, and much more.
Now, in 2020, Hilda is an open supporter of the Joe Biden presidential campaign. Hilda has officially made a statement saying that she believes Biden to have a steady approach. Also, a lot of experience, making him the most suitable candidate.
