Guy Adami was born the eldest of five children of Nancy C. and Guy M. Adami, and grew up in New York where he went to the Croton-Harmon High School. While in high school, Adami captained both football and basketball teams, and his touchdown of 104-yard on an interception return against Hastings High School is still one of the longest in the history of high school football. Guy matriculated in 1982, and went on to study at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., graduating in 1986.
Soon after a graduation, Adami launched his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert where he served on the floor of the commodity futures exchange at the New York Mercantile Exchange, with attendant offices in Boston, Washington, Atlanta, San Francisco, Dubai, London, and Tokyo. Guy managed to make a lot of money during his ten-year stint with the company, but in 1996 his talents were recognized and he joined the Goldman Sachs’ commodity group called J. Aron to become its vice-president. After making millions of dollars over a seven-year period, he left the post to become an executive director at CIBC World Markets in 2003m remaining in this post for nine years, consistently improving his net worth.
