Dahl`s career began in 1975 when he started the Pet Rock, an idea to use rocks as pets. He got the idea while sitting in a bar with his friends who complained about their pets. He soon wrote a manual on how to use rocks as pets, and started selling rocks. This lasted for only a year; however, but it increased the overall size of his net worth by a large margin, as he sold over a million in only five months.
