Upon his death, Mercury left $850,500 to his personal assistant, and gave the same amount of money to Joe Fanelli and Jim Hutton. In addition to that, he gave approximately $15 million in charitable donations. In regards to his overall wealth, Freddie Mercury’s net worth is estimated to be $100 million, most of which he accumulated due to his involvement with “Queen”.

Freddie Mercury was born in 1946, in Stone Town, East Africa. As a child, Mercury spent a lot of time in India. At the same time, he started expressing an interest in music, as a result of which he had an opportunity to take piano lessons. Mercury began his studies at the St. Peter’s School in Western India, where he formed his first band entitled “The Hectics”. When he was 17 years old, Mercury together with his parents moved to Middlesex in England, in order to avoid the dangers of the Zanzibar Revolution. In England, Mercury attended Isleworth Polytechnic School and later continued his studies at Ealing Art College, from which he graduated with a degree in Art. Following university, Freddie Mercury played in a variety of bands until in 1970 he met Roger Taylor and Brian May, who at the time played in a band called “Smile”. Eventually, the group decided to adopt the name of “Queen” for the band, giving rise to one of the greatest rock bands in music history. With a new name for the band, Freddie Mercury decided to change his last name as well, as a result of which he became Freddie Mercury instead of Freddie Bulsara.

Freddie died in 1991 from an AIDS-related illness.

In regards to his personal life, Freddie Mercury was involved with Mary Austin, whom he dated for several years. However, even though they broke up, Mercury and Austin remained good friends. In 1980s, Mercury was in a relationship with Barbara Valentin, and later started dating Jim Hutton.
