He is a singer and drummer, best known from having played with various bands such as Journey, Black Sabbath and Cacophony, and in Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Vai and Matthew Ward backing bands. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

Deen discovered the drums at a very young age, and he was soon practicing songs from and with many bands. He attended South Salem High School and eventually his passion for music would lead him to become part of several acts. His first recording was as part of the band Wild Dogs on their 1983 album. Since then he has worked with bands such as Dr. Mastermind, Bad English, Joey Tafolla, G/Z/R, Social Distortion and Rush Tribute. He then gained popularity when he became the drummer of the band Journey; he reportedly loved the band ever since hearing the drummer Steve Smith in the album “Captured”. He toured and recorded with the band, becoming part of the albums “Arrival”, “Red 13” and “Generations”. As part of Journey, he also contributed his vocals, including singing during tours. He continued being part of their albums “Revelation” and “Eclipse” which were released in 2011. A few of the songs he has lead vocals on include “Keep on Runnin”, “Still They Ride” and “Mother, Father”. All these activities have added to his net worth.

Aside from that, Castronovo released his own video entitled “High Performance Drumming”, a drum instructional tutorial. He then formed the supergroup Revolution Saints which features names such as Ozzy Osbourne, Jack Blades, and Doug Aldrich, and marking the first time that he worked as a vocalist for an entire album. He continued touring with Journey, but in 2015 he was arrested and charged with assault, then further charges resulting in four years probation which led to him being dropped from the band. He was replaced by former drummer Steve Smith. Since then he’s worked on other albums such as “Genexus” by Fear Factory.

For his personal life, Castronovo is married to Deidra Castronovo and they have two children. In 2015, he was charged with fourth-degree assault and menacing after being arrested for physically injuring a woman. He was touring around this time and had to be dropped from the tour. He faced charges of sexual abuse, assault, rape, unlawful use of a dangerous weapon, and contempt of court, but took the plea bargain resulting in the four years of probation, and counselling for domestic violence. He currently resides in Keizer, Oregon. Aside from these, he also mentions that he listens to other genres of music, and has difficulties with fusion.
