She started gymnastics as soon as she began attending elementary school, which eventually led her to become an avid gymnast, and a track athlete, while at badminton she was also very successful. Due to her good appearance and her participation in athletics, she was a very popular girl at the high school she attended in Deerfield, Illinois.

 Cory began going to the gym as soon as she earned her bachelor’s degree and concentrated on lifting weights. In 1980 she entered her first competition – Ms. Mid America – and then went on to pose at the 1981 IFBB North American Bodybuilding Championships on stage. The competition did not go as expected, as Cory was taken to a hospital because of the intense pain she felt in her left foot-she was diagnosed with blood clots and had to have her foot amputated almost. 

She did not allow this to slow her down as she went on to compete at 13 shows winning eight of them in the next three years. She competed at the NPC Nationals in 1984 and won, which meant that she had qualified to participate at the 1984 Ms. Olympia.

Corinna Everson’s performing career After she stopped competing in 1989, Cory turned to acting. Her first notable appearance, alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme, was in the 1991 film “Double Impact.” Her next appearance was shot in the movie “Natural Born Killers” in 1994, and then “Ballistic” in 1995.

She has starred in several TV shows, including “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” and “The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.” but only in one or two episodes-she was also part of the 1991 game show “To Tell The Truth.” 

Cory is the founder and host of her own workout show called “BodyShaping,” and authored six books including “Strength Training for Beauty Volume 3” in 1986, “Superflex: Ms. Olympia’s Guide to Creating a Strong & Sexy Body” in 1987, and “Back in Shape” in 1991.

The two separated in 1996 for undisclosed reasons, but Cory chose to retain Everson as their stage name.
