She attended St. Mary’s Academy in Colorado and went on to enroll at the University of Denver, where her father was the assistant dean at the time. After majoring in Music, Rice went to the Aspen Music Festival and School, however, her strong interest in politics showed up after an International Politics course which was taught by Josef Korbel, whom Condoleeza later cited as a central figure in her life. In 1974 at the age of 19, Rice was awarded a B.A. in political science by the University of Denver and a year later obtained a master’s degree in the same field from the University of Notre Dame.
