To begin with, Bob Gaudio grew up in the Bronx and played the piano as a teenager in the pop group The Royal Teens. He was educated at Bergenfield High School but dropped out in order to pursue a career in music. As we can easily see now, it was the right decision as Bob Gaudio has managed to accumulate millions working in the music industry. In 1958, the band The Royal Teens rose to fame with the song “Short Shorts” (1958), which had been composed by Gaudio.

After the band separated in 1960, he joined the Four Seasons, which at that time was still completely unknown. In 1963, the band hit the charts with the hit single “Sherry”. Bob Gaudio with Bob Crewe, the producer of the Four Seasons, subsequently wrote a number of hits for the band, including “Big Girls Do not Cry” (1962), “Walk Like a Man” (1963), “Ronnie” (1964), “Save It for Me” (1964), “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” (1967) and others. Many of the compositions were later successfully remixed by other performers, such as The Tremeloes, and the Walker Brothers among other artists.

In 1968, Crewe was fired, whereupon Gaudio took the position of producer and began writing songs alongside Jake Holmes, with whom he created the album “The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette” (1969). The album was financially profitable and added huge sums to the total size of the Four Seasons net worth. Afterwards, Gaudio focused more on producing and composing. In the early 1970s he worked with Frank Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson,  and other well known stars, but it should be noted that he continued working with the Four Seasons, and in 1975 he wrote “Who Loves You” (1975), which became a huge hit and ushered in a comeback of the band.
