Alice Marie Johnson (born May 30, 1955) is an American criminal justice reform advocate and former federal prisoner. Johnson was convicted in 1996 for her involvement in a Memphis cocaine trafficking organization and sentenced to life imprisonment.
In June 2018, after serving 21 years in prison, Johnson was released from the Federal Correctional Institution, Aliceville, after President Donald Trump commuted her sentence after Kim Kardashian.

Alice Marie Johnson was born in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Her parents had 9 children including Alice. The family was an agricultural crop-sharing family. Her accomplices were sentenced to 19 years in prison, and a few others received 10 years.
While in prison, Alice Johnson also released a memoir where she wrote about the time she served at the Federal Medical Center, Carswell. She was a certified hospice worker in the federal prison, then got transferred to FCI Aliceville.

The First Step Act, which became law in 2018, reduced some mandatory minimum sentences for drug convictions, expanded good behavior credits for inmates toward early release, and changed recidivism reduction programming.
