He is a two-time Funny Car Champion of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, with championships in 2009 and 2017. His 2009 title brought the JFR team its 15th championship while the team’s 19th crown was his 2017 title. In all 13 of his competitive seasons Hight has finished in the top 10 points.
Hight has grown up in Alturas, but now lives in Yorba Linda, California.
