Then, she started getting help from this organization and soon she realized this type of organization is needed in Detroit as well. So Florine brought Weight Watchers to Michigan in 1966 and built the business from scratch with a loan of $5000.
She slowly expanded her business to the Midwest, the East Coast, Canada, and Mexico. After working all her life, as she approached 70 years of age, Florine sold most of her franchise but retained Michigan and Ontario, Canada branches. But eventually, Florine sold those branches as well when she was in her mid-80s.

When Florine was set to get married, she lost her weight just to fit in her wedding dress. However, she soon gained weight and when she was 25, her overweight soon started causing her several health problems.
